With its bold blend of traditional european styling and modern application of timeless materials, the new master bath proves that good design can indeed be set in stone. Together, the homeowners and designer planned the broken-edge granite backsplash to complement the octagonal window. For privacy, the window is fitted with glue-chip glass.

Four-inch-deep shelves set between the studs supply storage near the end of the tub. A tiered towel bar with rack contributes a sleek, shiny touch.

The refinement carries over into the shower, where chrome fixtures sparkle against porcelain tiles made to look like honed marble. Cherrywood cabinetry provides a deep-toned base for the green-flecked granite countertop.
